Team for Major Disease-targeted New Drugs Development

          Team for Major Disease-targeted New Drugs Development: Leaded by Prof Ma Chaoying, the team engages in research and development of new drugs aimed at such major diseases as tumor, anxiety disorder, diabetes mellitus and hyperlipemia. In the past 5 years, the team directed and participated in 22 research projects at national, provincial or ministerial level. Among the 22 projects, the team played a leading role in 1 National Science and Technology Major Project, namely the “Significant New Drugs Development”, 7 projects initiated and funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and 4 sub-projects by Ministry of Science and Technology. The team won 1 First Prize for the Scientific and Technological Progress Award by China Association of Chinese Medicine for its involvement in the research and development work. Its members have published 6 monographs and textbooks as well as over 100 academic papers in noted journals both at home and abroad, among which more than 20 were covered by SCI. Furthermore, the team was granted over 10 national invention patents.

Ma Chaoying, the second-level professor, is granted the Special Allowance by the State Council. Prof Ma Chaoying, who ever worked as member of Infectious Diseases Branch of China Association of Chinese Medicine and member of National Traditional Chinese Medicine Education Professional Committee, currently works as deputy chairman of Subcommittee for the Study of Pain of China Medical Association of Minorities (CMAM), member of Professional Committee of Dimensional Assessment of Daodi Herbs of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS)Note: Daodi Herbs refer to herbs produced in particular natural conditions and ecological environmentand member of Sichuan Association of Chinese Medicine.

Prof Mao Chaoying has directed 5 projects by the National Natural Science Foundation and over 10 projects at provincial and ministerial level, published more than 100 academic papers and worked as chief editor of 12 academic books and textbooks. Furthermore, Prof Mao Chaoying has also been awarded 4 national invention patents, 1 Second Prize for the National Outstanding Teaching Achievement once, 1 Third Prize for Outstanding Teaching Achievement of Sichuan Province, and 6 Scientific and Technological Progress Awards at national and ministerial level. Prof Mao Chaoying has been devoted to studies of function mechanism of anti-tumor drug and its compound recipe and development of new drugs and health care products.
