2023年7月7日下午五点半，我们在GSU student center成功举办了一场迎新活动。
此次活动的内容丰富多彩，大致分为六个部分。
首先，由主持人俞逸枫带领我们进入了活动的序幕，他热情洋溢地讲述了此次活动的主要流程，并展示了一些之前举办的活动的照片，让大家对接下来的活动有了期待。其次，Dr.Tai进行了精彩的致辞，他主要讲述了我们中美合作办学项目的优点，强调了在美国学习应有的学习作风，并为新来的学弟学妹提供了可以进入实验室学习的机会。接下来，我们的中国合作方西南交通大学代表老师廖海进行了致辞。他分享了中美合作办学项目的优点以及在美国深造的好处，为学弟学妹们提供了更多的学习视角。
然后，是我们热情洋溢的披萨环节。大家都有秩序地领取披萨，并且在享受美食的同时，新生们也积极地找到Dr.Tai和学长学姐们进行讨论，充分利用了这个交流机会。
接下来，20级学生代表章旭承分享了他在GSU的学习经验，20级学生代表任馨然分享了她在美国的生活经验，20级学生代表周浩年分享了他关于在美国的安全问题的理解和处理经验。他们的分享都引起了新生们的热烈反响，大家纷纷表示收获颇多。
最后，活动在欢声笑语中结束，我们合影留念，记录了这一美好的时刻。
此次活动参与人数约100人，包括GSU生物系院长戴院长，中美合作办学项目中国西南交通大学代表老师廖老师，2022年来到GSU的20级学长，以及刚来到GSU的21级新生。活动反响热烈，21级的新生们都积极参与讨论，活动达到了预期效果，可以说是十分成功。
此次迎新活动的成功举办，不仅增强了新生们对GSU的认同感和归属感，同时也加深了新生与学长之间的情感联系，预示着新的学年的开始，大家都充满了对未来的期待。
Welcome Event for 2023 Successfully Held
On July 7, 2023, at 5:30 pm, we successfully held a welcome event at the GSU student center. The event was divided into six parts. First, the host Yu Yifeng led us into the opening of the event. He enthusiastically introduced the main agenda of the event and showed some photos of previous events, which made everyone look forward to the following activities. Second, Dr. Tai gave a wonderful speech. He mainly talked about the advantages of our Sino-US joint education program, emphasized the learning style that should be adopted in the United States, and offered opportunities for the new students to enter the laboratory for learning. Next, our Chinese partner Southwest Jiaotong University representative teacher Liao Hai gave a speech. He shared the advantages of the Sino-US joint education program and the benefits of further study in the United States, and provided more learning perspectives for the new students.
Then, it was our enthusiastic pizza session. Everyone orderly received pizza, and while enjoying the food, the new students also actively discussed with Dr. Tai and senior students, making full use of this communication opportunity.
Next, Zhang Xucheng, a student representative from 2020, shared his learning experience at GSU; Ren Xinran, a student representative from 2020, shared her life experience in the United States; Zhou Haonian, a student representative from 2020, shared his understanding and handling experience of security issues in the United States. Their sharing aroused enthusiastic responses from the new students, who all said that they had gained a lot. Finally, the event ended in laughter and joy. We took a group photo to record this wonderful moment.
